Announcements
Announcements inform users about model launches, feature updates, and maintenance windows. Administrators create and maintain them; users read them through the notification entry or the announcement center.
Types and Recipients
| Type | Use case | How it appears |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | Routine notices, feature updates | Users read via the notification entry or announcement center |
| Popup | Important matters needing immediate attention | Pops up for recipients during its validity period |
Administrators can create standard and popup announcements, and the visible roles are always all members of the organization.
Categories include operations, security, organization, and feature updates. Categories help users find content and are configured separately from the display type.
Creating and Publishing
Open Announcements in the administrator menu and click New, then fill in:
| Field | Guidance |
|---|---|
| Type | Standard or popup |
| Category | Choose by content purpose |
| Start time | Leave empty to publish immediately; a future time schedules the announcement |
| End time | Required for popup announcements—auto-archives on expiry; hidden for standard announcements |
| Visible roles | Confirm which members the announcement targets |
| Title | State the topic concisely, e.g., "Model service maintenance notice" |
| Content | Cover the matter, its impact, and any action users should take; supports rich text, lists, tables, links, and images |
If the content isn't ready, click Save as draft and finish later. Once content, recipients, and timing are confirmed, click Publish. Announcements with a future start time enter a pending state and display automatically at the scheduled time.
Popup announcements need sensible start and end times, with the end after the start. Only one popup announcement can be on display at a time: saving a new one whose display window overlaps an existing popup announcement is rejected. Adjust the times, or wait until the existing announcement ends.
The announcement list supports title search and quick filtering by status:
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Displaying | Published and visible to users |
| Pending | Scheduled but not yet started |
| Draft | Not published, or withdrawn awaiting edits |
| Archived | Reminder ended; content preserved |
The All view shows announcements in every state. After publishing, return to the list to verify the status and timing.
Withdrawing and Archiving
Published announcements are read-only. To correct one, open its detail, click Withdraw and confirm—the announcement returns to draft. Edit the content, re-check the publish time, then publish again.
When the matter is over but users should still be able to look it up, click Archive and confirm. Archived announcements no longer appear in unread notifications but remain viewable in the announcement center. Popup announcements archive automatically when they reach their end time.
Withdraw stops display for editing; archive ends the reminder and preserves history. Announcements no longer worth keeping can be deleted; verify content and status before deleting.
Reading Announcements
Users read announcements from the notification entry at the top right, or in the announcement center, filtering by category and read/unread state, and searching by title or content.
- Standard: Marked as read when opened.
- Popup or banner: Marked as read only after checking Don't remind me again and confirming in the detail view; merely closing the popup does not mark it read.
- Bulk handling: In the announcement center, select announcements and mark them read, or use mark-all-read and confirm as prompted.
Read announcements stay viewable; archived ones remain in the center but don't count as unread. Each user sees only announcements published to their own organization.
